Burner covers create extra counter space to set down a box or mixing bowl, and are a decorative cover-up when the stove is not in use. They keep spatters from landing on clean burners.   Burner covers can help prevent fire. Flammables such as paper goods, food containers, and Styrofoam, on or near burners won't catch fire instantly if the wrong he burner was accidentally turned on. But you must shut the heat and remove the hot cover and flammables as quickly as possible. Our genuine stainless steel will hold up a little better than others if you tend to turn on wrong burners.
